We’re making it easier for you to get in the game. Learn how to host a Watch Party and how we can help.
Tourism Burnaby’s Watch Party Grant Program supports local restaurants and bars in hosting outstanding, welcoming soccer watch parties that transform your venue into an exciting gathering place for fans while celebrating Burnaby’s diverse communities. The program offsets hosting costs and drives awareness by featuring your watch parties on our consumer site. Use grant funds for country-themed decorations (flags, table décor, theming), prizes and giveaways, audio-visual equipment upgrades or rentals, and security costs.
Read the criteria and information carefully. Fill out the online form. If you have any questions please email us at info@tourismburnaby.com with the subject heading of “Soccer Watch Party Application.”
Approved applicants must be a licensed restaurant, bar, pub, or hospitality venue located within the City of Burnaby and hold all required municipal and provincial licenses to host events and serve alcohol (if applicable). Venues must be open to the public for watch party events. Temporary or pop-up venues are not eligible unless explicitly approved by Tourism Burnaby, and venues operated by national or multi-location chains may be considered at Tourism Burnaby’s discretion. For capacity requirements, capacity is defined as the venue’s maximum legal occupant load for the primary watch party space, as determined by fire code occupancy signage or municipal or licensing documentation. Tourism Burnaby reserves the right to request documentation to verify capacity.
